Purchasing a home is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned pro, I can help you make it a very rewarding experience.
I believe in an honest, balanced approach to buying and selling real estate. Know when to hold them, when to fold them, and most importantly, when to run. These instincts have served my clients well over the years across past careers as well.
I graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign with my Bachelor's degree. While there, I juggled school, work, and service in the Illinois Air National Guard. I am proud to have served 10 years with that fine group of men and women in the Air Force.
Like many of my colleagues, my former careers and experience have prepared me well for real estate:
One of the things I loved about owning a high-end furniture store for several years as part of a family business was the entrepreneurial experience. The negotiating, customer service, and staging skills I've developed while there are invaluable to my clients.
I've also done my fair share in the corporate world. As a Branch Manager for a large Regional bank for many years, I'm familiar with financial matters, mortgages, and the nuances associated with the house buying process.
I can't think of two better careers to complement my skills as Realtor.
I've saved the best for last, and that is my wonderful family. There's my beautiful wife, Jessica, and our two rambunctious children, Maddie and Finn. They complete me.
Some of my favorite things include travelling, hosting friends for dinner, and learning about new stuff. I relish certain channels like National Geographic, Discover, Smithsonian, and The History channel. I'm fascinated by the rich history and culture all around us, and the shows actually inspire me to ask more questions.
Another passion I have is, of course, real estate. Whether it's remodelling a room, making sure the landscape is perfect, or building custom shutters for the house, I absolutely love working with my hands to increase the value of property. Not only does it look good when you're finished, but I enjoy the satisfaction of knowing I did it myself.
